Optimizing Ping : How to optimizing pinging service of your wordpress blog

Ping service is one of the utilities in wordpress blogging platform.What it does is sending ping service site about your new update, post, page that you have just created. You can find out more about ping in this Wikipedia page .This is why blog attracts search engine really fast.In default,wordpress blog has pingomatic as it’s default ping service and this one of the best service.But the bad thing is that everytime you are posting,it’s pinging.Make a page it’s pinging,editing post or page  published,it’s keeping  pinging over and over again.Probably we never knew about our blog that already been banned by the ping service site after few months just because it was over-pinging.

In you admin dashboard,go to Setting==>Writing and you will found it.As you see in the screenshot,wordpress AUTOMATICALLY notice the ping site.

Luckily, wordpress has so many plugin developers. Not many plugin to handle this ping problem. Smart update pinger is one of them. However, this plugin no longer maintained and developed anymore, so it’s ended. Another great one is Ping Optimizer by MaxBlogPress,you can download it  from their page, here.Upload it to your plugin directory in your hosting via Ftp or go to Add New plugin menu in your wordpress plugin dashboard,activate it and you are ready for set this up.

As you see ,I removed pingomatic from default wordpress ping service list,and added it into this plugin list.So my default ping is empty.But you can add them in this list or in the default wordpress list.Just do not add same ping service site in both list because this plugin synchronizing it’s list with your default wordpress ping service site list.

Now as you see in that screenshoot,if you do not using this plugin,wordpress kept pinging even if you are editing published post or page only.So it’s only matter of time before your blog being banned by the ping service site.But with this plugin,your blog will not pinging if only editing post or page.It will make your blog safe from being banned.
