As you may know,a website which has a lot of pages generally will rank better rather than a website with less pages.Having a lot of pages with short but still good content is much better than few pages with long content. So 50 pages with 300 words each far much better than 5 pages with more than 1000 words in it’s content.Just make sure that the content contains more than 250 – 300 words to be relevance with the big G.
What I mean with pages ,it’s about pages that contain REAL content. Not like a “contact us” page or “about us” and or “who we are” “why us” and other similiar “fluff” page.Since i’m using wordpress, real content it’s not a big deal because we can write post, article separated each within category or topic.Few things you have to consider are :
- Keep your webpages (s) simple and clean.Avoid using too many animation,bad/junk graphic, javascript or anything that can prevent search engine crals your site properly and the most important don’t get your loyal visitor or customer disturbed by a bad site navigation.
- Better to break up your pages header with categories and tags and you can include your keyword in this heads.
- Don’t create any of identical pages because search engine think they are duplicated content .If you have page with two version e.g HTML and PDF,Google will still index both.To prevent this happened ,just create a robot txt file.See here for robot txt documentation.
Apply this standard to any of your websites :
-Main content (article,product,service)
-About us
-Contact us
-Related link/other resources
-Link to us page
-Copyright,Disclaimer,Privacy policy and Term of use
-Testimonial page
-Order page
-FAQ
Note : some of these are might be not necessary if we are only running a personal site or not a pure bussiness site.
Some other hints for your pages :
-Don’t make pages nested too deep
-Don’t ruin your page with various and unnecessary codes
Visitor may leave a slow loading site and the search engine doesn’t have much time to index all of your pages in a single pass, specialy if you have a very large site with hundreads or even thousands of pages.
-Better to stay away from frame and flash
None of the large and successful website using frame, the main reason for that because search engine will not crawl it properly.Flash,it’s cool and pleasant to the eye.But making entire homepage full with flash movie or animation is not a good idea even tho Google somewhat can index it succesfully. If you do use flash ,just put it in a space of your page e.g sidebar or footer and make sure to add this code
what ever your keyword
-Always pay attention to your dynamic urls
It’s a page url identified with “?” symbol just like http://www.yoursite.com/service.php?id=2&style=a Many site uses this dynamic urls nowadays, calling the dynamic URLs straight from the database.Well,Google will index that link as long doesn’t have more than two parameters. But as a wordpress flatform user ,we should not have to worry about this issue because wordpress is very seo friendly.
-Rewriting your URLs
Just in case if we can’t change the permanent link directly because hosting provider doesn’t support it,simply create a .htaccess file manualy.See example here .
-Put your keyword part in file name
Every attached image requires alt tag to be valid, you can put part of your keyword in it.Also other file like zip or video format etc can be renamed with part of your keyword.Separate every word with hyphen so the search engine recognize it.Use maximum two hyphens, more than that will make your site looks spammy about keyword manipulation.

In all SEO dos and don’ts, it is always important to remember to put the user first. What does the user want and how can I help them making it easier find? The more you do to help the users, the more the search engines will like you too.
It’s really important to consider everything when it comes to creating a site in a way that site owners must put themselves on the shoes of their visitors. What usually irritate them can be the same as they.
