These are the most famous diamonds in the world

The Hope DiamondOne of the most known diamonds is the Hope. This 45.52 carat steel blue diamond is presently on display at the Smithsonian.The legends of the ill-fortune and curse brought on the owner of the Hope Diamond are a lot. This diamond was given to the Smithsonian in 1958. The Hope was originally a quite flat, blocky 110-carat rough.

Cartier of New York bought this diamond at an auction sale in 1969 and baptized it “Cartier.” The following day Richard Burton purchased the diamond for Elizabeth Taylor. He renamed it the “Taylor-Burton”. In 1978,Elizabeth Taylor arranges the diamond up purchasable. Potential purchasers had to pay $2,500 each to watch the diamond to handle the costs of demonstrating it. Eventually, in June of 1979, the diamond was dealt for almost $3 million dollars.
