eBay Scams and Steps to Take if You Have Been Defrauded

June 5, 2011

eBay is a comparatively safe marketplace. Unluckily, similar most online marketplaces, it’s vulnerable to defraud. eBay attempts to keep cases of scams happening, but with more than 100 million members, and more or less $40 million going through the site on a daily basis. This could be a bit hard. Occasionally, scams come.

If you’ve been scammed, there are positive steps you want to pursue to report the incident, and to attempt to refer a solution. If you paid for the item by Paypal, the initiative is to log in to your Paypal account and open a dispute for the payment. If you didn’t pay by Paypal, contact your credit card company. In nearly all instances, if you have victimized among these two cases, you’ll regain your money.

The following step is to employ an eBay’s dispute process to report the seller. This is specifically for items that weren’t received, or items that were importantly unlike what was described in the auction. eBay also has a purchase protection platform to encourage protect customers. If a settlement can’t be achieved with the purchaser, the succeeding step is to create an eBay customer purchase protection claim.
