Different Types of Synthetic Fiber Carpet
Nylon
The fiber nylon was brought out, firstly, by the DuPont Chemical Company in 1938. Several years later, after a great deal of developments, nylon turned the first synthetic fiber to be practised in the whole carpeting industry.

Tip
An easy way to trial run synthetic fiber carpet for the presence of a fluorochemical is to cut a few fibers from a non traffic area and employ a couple of drops of oil and water mixture. If it beads up, then there is an active fluorochemical present.

Polyester

Acrylic/modacrylic
Both fibers were beginning utilized as carpet yarns around the late 1940s. They vanished around 1988 due to the rival from different fibers.
