How to Get Rid of Ants Effectively

How to Get Rid of AntsIf you live in any sort of residence (which hopefully, you really do), knowing how to get rid of ants is a must. Ant invasions in the home can cause many problems such as general disgust, loss of morale and starvation if not taken care of in good order. If you see one or two ants crawling around in your house, don’t think that this is something not to be worried about, particularly if you see them now and again. Because there is no such thing as two ants, but there is such a thing as 2 million ants, as the movie Antz puts it. If a few ants are regularly making their way into your home, that means there’s a clear passage way for a colony to invite itself inside if you ever incidentally leave a viable food source that a few messenger ants happen to sniff out. So don’t leave your half-eaten sandwich out on the counter, put it in the fridge. And be sure that everything in your pantry is plastered tightly.

How to get rid of ants in the beginning? Prevention. Don’t tempt them, and don’t open the door.

If you discover any openings where ants look to be coming in, get some repellent spray and give them a good spraying. If you are not partial to the toxic smell of repellent, there are some orange sprays that naturally repel ants. Alternatively, if you have the skills, patience and materials, you could seal up those holes and cracks. However, how to get rid of ants if they have already invaded? First get rid of whatever the ants are being attracted to and dump it out straightaway. Then, kill the enemy. Time to bring out the ant raid, but this can turn tedious as the onslaught of ants can seem never-ending. In this case, you may prefer to invest in a few ant bait traps. Open these and lay them around the openings where ants are coming in. Hundreds of ants from the colony will crawl in order to eat this bait, so you will have to hold in your disgust and deal with it for a couple of days. However, the bait is toxic and the ants will bring it back to their colony and kill off all the other ants, so finally it will be worth it and you’ll have won the war.

Now, how to get rid of ants forever? There’s no permanent solution, but the best you can do is to minimize ant invasions as much as possible. You can do this by keeping your place tidy and keeping up your guard. Ants are feisty and they will not stop at ways to invade, but you can do your best to put up a fight.
