Choosing The Best Dress Shoes For Kids

Dress Shoes For KidsWhen I was about ten, my mother remarried. I think this was when my love of shoes was born. We were out shopping for something for me to wear, and I discovered a pair of shoes that I immediately fell in love with, which was odd for somebody of my age. My mother permitted me to get them, and I still remember them to this day. They had something of a heel on them, and would only be described as strappy shoes nowadays. They were not the best choice in dress shoes for kids for me, as I could simply wear them every now and then. However, I still loved them. If you have to pick out shoes for your kids, make sure they are a little more versatile than the ones I selected.

Dress shoes for kids can have something of a heel on them, but they should not be overly high.

High heels can cause every types of damage to the feet, which can be magnified on growing feet. There is plenty of time in adulthood to ruin feet by wearing heels excessively often. Save them some pain now. Keep the heel an inch or lower when buying for little girls. They can still have a great shoe without anything over an inch. This isn’t typically a concern with boy’s shoes, but your little girl might want something like you wear. Save it for prom when her feet are done growing.

Watch the stiffness of the shoe when buying dress shoes for kids. Though most dress shoes are made of stiffer material, you don’t want them to have blisters. This is some other basic problem with dress shoes, but not all of them are made this way. Shoes for kids should be a bit more tolerant and should have a few type of soft padding where blisters normally form, like near the big toe or on the back of the ankle. They are not going to like anything that rubs, which will simply make them miserable.

Next, check over the sole of the shoe. It should be firm, but should not be so stiff that their feet don’t flex as they should. This is peculiarly crucial when you are buying dress shoes for kids under the age of five. A firm sole can really help toddlers who are trying to walk on their toes, but they can also cause the foot to move unnaturally, which can be damaging in some cases. It may not be a worry for you if they don’t wear the shoes too often, but you do wish them to be comfortable. Otherwise, they may request flip flops each and every time you leave the house.

Be sure the total quality of the dress shoes for kids you choose is good, and that they’re wide enough. Kid’s feet grow fast, so getting them a half of a size to one size too big is a great idea to make them last longer, but anything bigger than that may trip them up. You want the toes to have plenty of room, and you want them to feel excessively comfortable in the shoes. They may attend a wedding or additional event in them, and you want them to have fun all day. Don’t forget to take a comfortable pair for later when they want to take off their dressy shoes.
