Choosing Kids Gym Shoes For Your Little One

Kids Gym ShoesThere is a lot more to choose the right shoes for your kids than simply going to the store, getting a certain size, and then taking them home to put on your kids. Picking out kids gym shoes is something that you should take your time with because they’re going to have to protect your children’s feet as well as perform well for the active things they do not only in gym class, but also when they’re playing sports or when they are playing outdoors. Take a bit time to get it right. Once you work through choosing, it will be easy as pie each time thereafter.

One thing that you have to think of when choosing kids gym shoes is how they look. You desire something your kids like and something that looks good on them. That should be a given. However, a lot of schools ask that children don’t have gym shoes that have a black sole on them. This is because this material will easily mar up the floor. This type of mark can come up, but it isn’t always easy. This means hours of additional work to get a gym floor clean. Be sure they have white or some other light color as a sole on any gym shoes you buy for them.

You may know what size you need to buy for your kids gym shoes, but are you really sure? You already know that their feet grow rapidly, but there is more than just the number to think about when you’re deciding. They should wiggle their toes easily but without so much room that they trip on their shoes. You also have to look at the width. If your child has thin feet, but you pick out wide, their heels are going to slip around in the shoes, hence making it more likely they may twist their ankle while running or turning.

You may think that kids gym shoes are all the same, but you would be wrong.

A few shoes are made with Velcro, which may not give the support a child needs for more athletic activities. Though shoes with laces can come untied, there are ways from stopping this. Laces can be tightened just right so that the shoes stay on but are not overly tight. They can also be either double knotted, or you can buy something to keep the laces tied while they’re wearing the shoes. Everybody has a different preference, but laced shoes look to be safer as Velcro wears out rather quickly.

Remember to check your kids gym shoes half way through the year, in case they have outgrown them or in the even that they have been worn through the toes or through the soles. This can occur quite easily with fast growing kids or children who are really active. You may end up buying more than one pair per year to make sure they’re in shoes that are secure for their feet and that hold up when you need them too. Often enough, you have to spend a little more than you might think to choose the perfect and cute kids gym shoes, but this is one time when spending more makes all the sense in the world.
