Choosing the Right Engagement Ring
When the time comes to ask that woman of your dreams to be with you forever and a day, you have quite a bit to think about in regard to how to ask her, when to ask her, and if you want to get her an engagement ring. You may think that everybody gets these, but that isn’t always the subject. It’s conventional though, so if that is what you prefer to do, take some time so that you know you have made the correct selection. It may be doing some investigating if you’re not sure what she desires, and it may mean doing some serious shopping. Whatever the case, the right ring can say it completely.
One would assume that the perfect engagement ring would be one that features a diamond, but that isn’t always the case. A few people like to have a colored diamond stone for an engagement ring. This trend has been under the radar for erstwhile, but the engagement of Prince William using his mother’s engagement ring has inspired this trend all over again. A birth stone, or just a stone other than a diamond that a woman prefers is a great ring. The point is that she loves it, and it suits with her personality.
That doesn’t mean that you can’t buy your lady a diamond engagement ring. The problem some have with diamonds is that they can be very expensive. If you own the money for a nice one, buy all means buy it, as long as you’re not going into debt to get it. That doesn’t make sense in today’s economy. However, if you prefer to get something small, get a ring that can be added to later in your marriage. This way, you can add more gems or diamonds to the ring as you have additional money to spare. This is a great alternative when money is tight, but the love is strong.
Friends and family can help you decide the right engagement ring if you’re not sure what to get, but be careful who you choose to help.
Some well-meaning people simply can’t keep quiet and may release your secret. Find somebody who you know can keep quiet, but knows your love well enough to help you get what she wishes. One consideration that you must know, besides the type of diamond or gem they may like, is if she prefers gold or silver. This is something you may already know, but when a woman wears both, it can be difficult to choose. This ring will be on her finger every single day, so that is one thing you have to get right on an engagement ring.
If an engagement ring is out of the question for you right now, your girl may already know that. A few couples find that choosing something else as an engagement gift is the way to go, and then a diamond is purchased later in the marriage at one, five or ten years. You go into marriage already having to pay for a wedding, and getting started with life together in general can be trying, so don’t go into debt overmuch so that you can’t get through the wedding, or you lose the opportunity to buy a home together. Your engagement ring can wait, with much less expensive alternative proposed instead.
