Choosing The Right Temporary Hair Color For Your Hair Type and Color

Temporary Hair ColorThere are some things that are easy to commit to, and then there are the things that could turn out to be a big mistake, and not so easy to fix. Humans take great pride in their hair, which means major changes are scary, and sometimes a mistake. If you want to do something drastic, like go from your natural light brown to a dark brown or even black, you know there is no going back if you use permanent hair color. If you would like to experiment, think about using temporary hair color, though at times it’s not as temporary as you may think.

If you were to use permanent color on your hair, it will change that hair until the hair grows all the way out, or until you find a way to cover it. If you go with black, there really is not much that you can do other than shave your head, or have your hair completely stripped to get it out. Even the stripping is difficult to achieve and leaves your hair in a very unhealthy state. If you want to go, dark, temporary hair color is the way to go. You may find that you hate it, and thankfully, the temporary should wash out. If you are a light blond, however, it may not all come out, so think about that before you color.

Most of the time, temporary hair color is more about doing something bold. Going blond from a dark isn’t something that you can do temporarily, as it involves removing color. However, if you want to have pink or green hair for a couple of weeks, this is what you want. If you would like to experiment with a different shade of brown from your typical color, this may work for you. For some people, this test run tells them if they, then want to go with something else long-term or if they should afterthought and go in a different direction.

You’ll find that temporary hair color is best the first week.

A little is going to wash out each time you use shampoo on your hair. If you want to make it last longer, wash your hair with shampoo only every other day. This won’t hurt you, and in point of fact,it’s good for your hair. However, if you want it to come out faster, you should shampoo more. This hair color is made with different ingredients so that it doesn’t permanently stain the hair follicle and should be out within six weeks, though most doesn’t last that long. It’s a short term commitment when you simple are not sure what you want to do.

Hair color in a box is great for most simple color changes. If you have done your experimenting, and you know what you want, you can always go from there with something other than temporary hair color. If you want to make a drastic change, or if you want something that has more than one color, like high and low lights, you may prefer to go into a salon so that you know it is done right. That saves you from sitting around for weeks waiting for your hair to heal before you can recolor to cover up your mistakes. Hair color is hard on your hair, so use care when selecting.
