Link Building Tips
When you consider how the internet works, one thing gets clear, regardless what angle you view it – links are the basic connectors, the basic relationship that forms and possibly directs the web. While there has been a lot of hype about link building being devalued by search engines like Google; that isn’t precisely the case. What is simply happening to be the fact that links should not count are being devalued, and more emphasis has been placed on those that count, trusted links. So how does Google determine trustworthy and untrustworthy links? One way is through verification – they use user data, the age of the domain as well as other hard-to-spoof elements. So really, links are still the key to rankings and there doesn’t seem to be any change in the predictable future.
Since good, original content is what keeps visitors coming back, you need to have that – there are no shortcuts to good, reliable links. At the same time, link building isn’t a rocket science. One of the best ways to have people link to your content is to create tips’ articles. For instance, you can have articles like “10 easy tips to help you enjoy your holidays.” Now that is very tempting to link to isn’t it? Or how about something like this: “ 10 myths about Halloween.” Sometimes, flattery is the easiest way to develop a good relationship, particularly from authority figures: “ 10 gurus you should listen to when it refers project management.” If I was listed as one of the gurus, I would definitely link back to you and share that link with other people. Of course, you want to share that link with the gurus to get them to notice you in the first place.
Link building can also be done from the inside out.
You can try to develop authority by having content that is easy to understand, and that has clear privacy policies. When you have good content that is clear of grammatical errors and spelling mistakes, even librarians will link to your site and finally, with persistence, you may be an authority figure. Social bookmarking also seems to work for some. Sites like Del.icio.us grant people to tag related sites and when people find these tags, they may follow the trail back and may eventually land on your site. Other similar sites are Digg that can expose you to other bloggers who may link to you. Don’t forget also the power of social networks like Facebook and Twitter. The more links you place on these sites, the higher the chances they’ll be seen and lead people back to you site.
You may also heard about link wheel etc. Well, it’s great but it will be a bit messy when one of those links in your scheme was broken and you need to maintain to make sure that all the links are not dead. Additionally, there are tools/softwares to make this link building process works faster, let’s say SENuke X, Xrummer, ScrapeBox. However, these tools quite costly and not all webmasters or bloggers would have a spare money to buy them and some require a monthly subscription, not to mention about the tutorial or instructions on how to use them effectively. But for those whom like to use these kind of tools, perhaps they will be worth the investment. Nonetheless, I am a person who believe in greatness of content, and still and always convince myself that content is truly a king. With a good seo on-page and great content, I think you’ll be the winner even though you decide the seo off-page is your second priority. After all, Google has updated it’s algorithm, The Panda.

Google SERPs, until 6 months ago, were in a real mess. They were heavily polluted with spun articles on low quality sites. It got so bad that I would jump straight to page 5 of Google search results to miss the first 50 manipulated results. I even stopped using Google for a while. Nowadays though, the situation is much better for the internet user who wants useful information when they use a search engine. Every SEO book that was ever written now needs to be re-written. High Page rank, manipulated keywords, and thousands of worthless links no longer guarantee high search rank.
I’m sorry but “link partnerships” was a typo on my part. It should read “blog partnerships.” If you read it within that context, you would find that the article makes much more sense. I’ll move to get that fixed. My apologies.
